Un viaje en el tiempo es la primera sensación que recorrerá tu cuerpo al comenzar a ingresar a la vieja medina, sus estrechos callejones, mercados de especias y ropa te maravillaran.

Cuando pensamos en Marruecos imaginamos el enorme desierto del Sahara, las caravanas de camellos recorriendo las inmensas dunas, el brillo del sol pegando en nuestro rostro pero es mucho mas que eso.

Si estas pensando visitar Marruecos y te sientes un poco desconcertado respecto a todo lo que implica el viaje, debes quedarte leyendo.

¿Medina?

Seguro al buscar información de Marruecos encuentras mucho la palabra "Medina" y entre tanta información encuentras lugares en "vieja medina" y "nueva medina", esto no es nada mas que la referencia a la nueva parte o la vieja, ya que Medina significa ciudad, sin duda al estar buscando visitar Marruecos deberás hospedarte en la vieja Medina, pues no me haría sentido que no fuera de esta manera ya que es la parte que atrapa del turismo en este hermoso país.

Un país Musulmán

Al ser un país Musulmán lo primero que debemos entender es a respetar, no por el hecho de que su ideología no compagine con la nuestra lo hace malo, es responsabilidad de nosotros investigar un poco de nuestros destinos para tener una idea mas clara de lo que nos espera y de las consideraciones que debemos de tomar al visitarlo, desde vestimenta, comida, horarios entre otros.

Te recomiendo que si eres mujer seas muy neutral con tu vestir, no es necesario que vayas con un cuello de tortuga pero si es mejor si usas vestidos largos y sueltos, un escote tenue, evita usar shorts sobre todo si son miniatura (en lo personal esos ya ni deberían de existir), evita hacer sentir incomodas a las personas y a ti misma.

Parte del encanto es el llamado para que recen, es lo que mas grabado esta en mi corazón, toma en cuenta que durante este periodo las tiendas suspenden su actividad por un momento. Es importante que sepas que al no ser musulmán no hay manera que puedas visitar una mesquita, así que te corresponderá disfrutar solo su arquitectura exterior.

Riad

Para vivir la mejor experiencia marroquí, te recomiendo hospedarte en un Riad, que básicamente es un conjunto de habitaciones las cuales rodean un patio el cual suele tener una piscina o un jardín, hay muchísimos y todos son hermosos, lo mejor que puedes hacer para elegir este es tomar en -cuenta la ubicación que tiene, ya que en Marruecos hay demasiado callejones donde te podrás perder.

Anexare en cada ciudad el link de los riads qué visité. Ojo hay muchos igual o me atrevo a decir mas bonitos que el famoso BE de Instagram.

¿Cuánto dinero?

Al llegar al aeropuerto te darán la opción de cambiar dinero ahí mismo, y no dudes en hacerlo, el monto depende de tu presupuesto y posibilidades, sin embargo el agente que te apoya a realizar el cambio de divisas te recomendara una cantidad estimada, en la cual te dará una parte en efectivo y otra por seguridad en una tarjeta de débito la cual es importante que le tomes una foto en caso de extravío tal vez logres recuperar tu dinero.

Quiero aclarar que no te debes de asustar al escuchar el "por seguridad una tarjeta de débito", no te van a tratar de arrebatar el bolso en cada esquina, simplemente y como en todos los países hay gente que no respeta y esto en realidad es mejor para que tu no pases un mal rato así que se debe de agradecer.

Marruecos no es un lugar peligroso pero debo de aceptar que puede llegar a ser intimídate como todos los lugares desconocidos, sobretodo en las noches en sus diminutos callejones, así que aquí te dejo mis consejos:

* Si una persona te ofrece ayuda (pueden ser incluso niños)para encontrar un lugar al final esperaran e incluso te extenderán la mano para que les des dinero, y si, despreciaran su moneda ya que esperan recibir euros, si estas muy perdido puede ser útil, de lo contrario amablemente niega la asistencia.

* Evita usar joyería vistosa, y siempre trae tu bolsa enfrente de ti si es cruzada, este consejo me lo dio el dueño de un Riad.

* Evita en la plaza "Jaama el Ena" acercarte a los encantadores de serpiente a menos que estés dispuesto a regalar 20 euros pues no te informaran que tenia un costo.

Marrakech

Es una de las ciudades imperiales de Marruecos, la mas conocida y visitada, es un imperdible del país.

Es mejor conocida como la ciudad roja, lo que a mi parecer es parte de su magia, en ella podrás visitar las tumbas saadíes, el palacio de la bahia, jardines, recorrer sus hermoso callejones adornados de todo tipo de arte local.

Deberás prepararte para regatear si quieres comprar algo, pues ellos te darán un precio esperando que tu lo intentes bajar.

Si no tienes Internet disponible todo el tiempo no olvides descargar el mapa.

Es un paraíso visual, disfruta todo lo que te rodea, y si quieres tomarte o tomar foto de alguna tienda pide autorización del propietario para evitar pasar un mal rato.

El famoso Jardín Majorelle esta localizado en la nueva medina, te recomiendo que lo dejes para el ultimo contemplando su horario, pues así evitaras a mucha gente intentando tomarse fotos y tu lo podrás realizar con libertad, a mi parecer es un cliché, muy bonito pero nada fuera del otro mundo, sin embargo ya que estamos tan lejos, nos merecemos esa foto.

Ait ben Haddou, Sahara y mas...

En Marruecos podrás encontrar un sin fin de campamentos, si estas dispuesto a un viaje largo, pero que vale la pena, no dudes en elegir el Sahara, yo reserve mi tour en www.whattodo.ma y al estar platicando con las otras personas que eligieron ese mismo tour, nos dimos cuenta que son diferentes plataformas pero el mismo proveedor.

El precio fue de €318.00 por dos personas, el cual incluía transportación redonda, una noche en un hotel localizado en Dades, una noche en un campamento de lujo en el desierto, el tour en camello en el desierto de Merzouga (Sahara) y el recorrido en Ait Ben Haddou.

Todos los lugares son impresionantes, al regresar tienes la opción de ir a Fez o a Marrakech, es un regreso largo pero que vale absolutamente la pena.

Lo mejor para mi fue el campamento, las estrellas y el amanecer son un sueño, el recorrido en camello, música y danza con los chicos Bereber es algo que sin duda se quedara grabado para siempre en mi espíritu.

Fez

La famosa ciudad amurallada, Fez otra de las ciudades imperiales, la cual se grabara en tu corazón y en tu olfato.

Cuando llegues a Fez podrás notar una enorme diferencia entre ella y Marrakech la cual se encuentra mucho mas arraigada a su cultura y tradiciones.

La ciudad se distingue por ser la principal en producción de artesanías con cuero y ese olor se hace presente en la ciudad, pues visitar las famosas Tenneries es un Must al momento de ir a Fez, tendrás acceso desde cualquier tienda que venda el cuero pues los vendedores te invitaran a que veas el proceso con la finalidad de que compres algo, al llegar te darán una ramita de menta para que puedas olerla mientras observas las tenneries y créeme que la as a necesitar, el olor es demasiado fuerte y nada agradable, sin embargo la experiencia lo vale totalmente.

En fez podrás visitar el palacio, solo puedes hacerlo por fuera y admirar su hermosa arquitectura y colores. La Medrasa de Bou, la cual es impresionante debes de prestar atención a cada mínimo detalle en sus paredes, si deseas tener un panorama de la vieja medina te recomiendo que visites las tumbas Benimerinas, son fáciles de encontrar en google maps y podrás presenciar un hermoso atardecer.

De la comida no hablo mucho pues básicamente en todo Marruecos es lo mismo, al punto que puede llegar a ser tedioso, incluso sabe cómo si la misma persona la hubiese cocinado, los primeros días resulta agradable pero después no tanto.

Chefchouen

La hermosa ciudad azul, podrás llegar desde Fez a Chefchouen fácilmente, es necesario que tomes un bus el cual tiene un recorrido de unas 4 hrs aproximadamente, te recomiendo comprar los boletos online o llegando a Fez pues suelen acabarse con facilidad, esta ubicada entre montañas muy cerca de España, por lo que notaras inmediatamente la influencia de este país en la pequeña ciudad, la cultura musulmana es menos estricta y finalmente encontraras variedad de alimentos.

Voy a ser totalmente honesta, visitar Chefchouen es deleitarte de su color y fachadas, es para pasarla tranquilamente en la ciudad, hay realmente pocas cosas que visitar como las cascadas y la mezquita, podrás encontrar un mirador para poder presenciar el atardecer de la ciudad.

Lo primero que te ofrecerán a llegar a Chefchouen será Hachis, sin embargo eso no quiere decir que sea legal, por lo que te recomiendo tengas tus precauciones si decides probarlo.

Mi ultimo sorbo de cafe

Con esto hago referencia a los datos curiosos:

En todos lados encontraras una foto del Rey, es obligación no es optativo tenerla en tu negocio.

Toma todo el té de menta que puedas, es delicioso y nunca encontraras otro igual.

El alcohol al ser un país musulman no esta permitido, en algunos restaurantes podrás encontrarlo pero definitivamente no será tarea fácil.

Trata de llevar siempre contigo un poco de efectivo, en especial para pagara en los restaurantes si tomas algún tour de camello y para comprar agua en las paradas hacia el Sahara o Chefchauen.

Cara un poco de papel higiénico siempre contigo y dramamine si te mareas fácilmente.

No pongo el nombre de los hoteles del tour al Sahara puesto que no los recuerdo y como mencione lo compre en la pagina que coloque arriba.

MOROCCO

Medina?

Surely when looking for information about Morocco you will find the word "Medina", you will find places in "old medina" and "new medina", this is nothing more than the reference to the new or the old part, since Medina means city, without a doubt when you are looking to visit Morocco you should stay in the old Medina, because it would not make sense to me if it were not this way since it is the part that attracts tourism in this beautiful country.

A Muslim country

Being a Muslim country the first thing we must understand is to respect, not because their ideology does not match ours makes it bad, it is our responsibility to research a little of our destinies to have a clearer idea of ​​what awaits us and the considerations that we must take when visiting it, from clothing, food, schedules among others.

I recommend that if you are a woman be very neutral with your outfit, it is not necessary that you go with a turtle neck but if it is better if you wear long and loose dresses, a subdued neckline, avoid wearing shorts especially if they are miniature (personally those shouldn't even exist anymore), avoid making people and yourself feel uncomfortable.

Part of the charm is the call to pray, it is what is most engraved in my heart, take into account that during this period the stores suspend their activity for a moment. It is important that you know that since you are not Muslim there is no way you can visit a mosque, so it will be up to you to enjoy only its exterior architecture.

Riad

To live the best Moroccan experience, I recommend you stay in a Riad, which is basically a set of rooms which surround a patio which usually has a pool or a garden, there are many and they are all beautiful, the best you can do to choose This is to take into account the location it has, since in Morocco there are too many alleys where you can get lost.

I will attach in each city the link of the riads that I visited. There are many equal or dare I say more beautiful than the famous BE of Instagram.

How much money?

When you arrive at the airport they will give you the option to exchange money right there, and do not hesitate to do so, the amount depends on your budget and possibilities, however the agent that supports you to make the currency exchange will recommend an estimated amount, in the which will give you a part in cash and another for security on a debit card which is important that you take a photo in case of loss, you may be able to recover your money.

It is one of the imperial cities of Morocco, the best known and most visited, it is a must in the country.

It is better known as the red city, which in my opinion is part of its magic, in it you can visit the Saadian tombs, the palace of the bay, gardens, walk through its beautiful alleys adorned with all kinds of local art.

You should prepare to haggle if you want to buy something, because they will give you a price waiting for you to try to lower it.

If you don't have Internet available all the time, don't forget to download the map.

It is a visual paradise, enjoy everything that surrounds you, and if you want to take or take a picture of a store, ask for authorization from the owner to avoid having a bad time.

The famous Majorelle Garden is located in the new medina, I recommend that you leave it for the last contemplating its schedule, because that way you will avoid many people trying to take photos and you can do it freely, in my opinion it is a cliché, very nice but nothing out of the other world, however since we are so far away, we deserve that photo.

Ait ben Haddou, Sahara and more ...

In Morocco you can find an endless number of camps, if you are willing to a long trip, but it is worth it, do not hesitate to choose the Sahara, I book my tour at www.whattodo.ma and when I am talking with the other people who They chose that same tour, we realized that they are different platforms but the same provider.

The price was € 318.00 for two people, which included roundtrip transportation, one night in a hotel located in Dades, one night in a luxury desert camp, the camel tour in the Merzouga (Sahara) desert and the tour in Ait Ben Haddou.

All the places are impressive, when you return you have the option of going to Fez or Marrakech, it is a long return but it is absolutely worth it.

The best thing for me was the camp, the stars and the sunrise are a dream, the camel ride, music and dance with the Berber boys is something that will undoubtedly remain forever etched in my spirit.

Fez

The famous walled city, Fez another of the imperial cities, which will be engraved in your heart and in your nose.

When you get to Fez you will notice a huge difference between it and Marrakech which is much more rooted in its culture and traditions.

The city is distinguished by being the main one in the production of leather handicrafts and that smell is present in the city, since visiting the famous Tenneries is a must when going to Fez, you will have access from any store that sells leather as the Sellers will invite you to see the process in order to buy something, when you arrive they will give you a sprig of mint so you can smell it while you look at the tenneries and believe me you will need it, the smell is too strong and not pleasant however, the experience is totally worth it.

In Fez you can visit the palace, you can only do it from the outside and admire its beautiful architecture and colors. The Medrasa de Bou, which is impressive, you must pay attention to every detail on its walls, if you want to have a panorama of the old medina I recommend that you visit the Benimerine tombs, they are easy to find on google maps and you can witness a beautiful sunset.

I don't talk much about food because basically in all of Morocco it is the same, to the point that it can become tedious, you even know how if the same person had cooked it, the first days it is pleasant but not so much later.

Chefchouen

The beautiful blue city, you can get from Fez to Chefchouen easily, it is necessary that you take a bus which has a journey of about 4 hours, I recommend you buy tickets online or arriving in Fez.

Chefhouen is located between mountains very close to Spain, so you will immediately notice the influence of this country in the small city, the Muslim culture is less strict and finally you will find a variety of foods.

I'm going to be totally honest, visiting Chefchouen is delighting you with its color and facades, it is to spend it quietly in the city, there are really few things to visit like the waterfalls and the mosque, you can find a viewpoint to witness the sunset of the city.

The first thing they will offer you to get to Chefchouen will be hashish, however that does not mean that it is legal, so I recommend you take your precautions if you decide to try it.
